CreateHere will present We Stand, a pop-up civic engagement laboratory designed in partnership with Chattanooga Stand.
This project will take place at CreateHere's East Main Street studio space from Nov. 21 through Jan. 29, and addresses local and global challenges, finding tools and citizen-owned solutions to even the most overwhelming problems.
We Stand is about the harnessing the power of place.

A woman accused of cutting in line at a Wal-Mart, shoving merchandise and assaulting police officers will plead guilty to disturbing the peace and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors.
Under the agreement -- reached after the jury received the case for deliberations -- Heather Ellis will plead guilty to disturbing the peace and resisting arrest.
She will serve a year of unsupervised probation, attend an anger management course and serve four days in jail before the end of the year.

When USC Upstate makes the short trip to Rock Hill, S.C., Saturday for a 4:00 p.m. showdown at Winthrop, it will renew a rivalry that dates back to 1979, but one that has been dormant since 1984.
Upstate leads the all-time series, 8-5, and own a two-game winning streak after claiming a pair of wins in the 1984 season.

Oher went to high school at Briarcrest Christian Academy in Memphis, where Freeze served as head coach.
Oher went on to play college football at the University of Mississippi, where Freeze became an assistant coach.

With two scores from standout forward Alexis Koval and one from Taylor Gait, Christian Brothers Academy defeated Penfield, 3-1, in the semifinals of the New York state soccer tournament Friday afternoon to continue its quest to clinch a state title.
CBA's defense also rallied together to post a stingy, defensive effort.
Penfield's sole goal, scored by midfielder Ivana Lahcanski, came in the last minute of the game.

Sokolski, a McKeel sophomore, never ran cross country before this season, and McKeel has barely put together a team in past years, usually scrambling to find five runners.
As the season winds down to the final meet of the season, all that has changed.
For the first time in the school's history, the McKeel girls are headed to the FHSAA Cross Country Finals today at Little Everglades Ranch in Dade City. The championships begin with Class 1A at 7:30 a.m. McKeel will run in the girls 2A race at 7:55 a.m.

A pretty, thatched church has been recreated in an Osaka hotel so that Japanese couples can get a sense of English tradition at their wedding ceremonies.
Work has just been completed on the construction of the church at Osaka's Monterey Grasmere Hotel which is modeled on All Saints Church in Brockhampton, Herefordshire, in England.

The Yale Lions and the White Rock Christian Academy Warriors will open the B.C. AAA high school boys basketball season in style next week.
On Wednesday at 7 p.m., the two perennial powerhouse squads will meet in an exhibition game on a neutral court at the University of the Fraser Valley.
Billed as the first annual "Valley Battle," the UFV athletic department is hoping that the game eventually grows into a season-opening tournament featuring the top teams in the region.
